  1. Actually, I think that’s just about the unoffical project: http://companion.mozdev.org

David Viner has been actively working on this project.

Now, what significance his @yahoo-inc.com address has, I don’t know. He’s never mentioned, to my knowledge, anything official regarding Yahoo and the extension.

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Companion.

We have received several requests for a Mozila version of Yahoo! Companion. Please know that our Production team is looking into this enhancement, but is currently unable to predict when such a program will be ready. In the meantime, please visit the Yahoo! Companion home page for the latest updates and info:

  3. The other data point is that Brendan reports that, at the Web 2.0 conference, the Yahoo executive said that they were working on one.

  4. Why would you want another toolbar to clutter your browser? That is the whole reason i switched to Mozilla Firefox in the first place. I didnt want some extra toolbars getting in my browser when other people used my computer.

*sigh* when will it all end?

  5. Re: Why would you want another toolbar to clutter your browser?

Because I use Yahoo! Bookmarks, which I can manage on a website, and access from any computer that has Yahoo! Toolbar installed on. With Yahoo! Bookmarks, I can access all of my bookmarks wherever I am.

  6. Yahoo bookmarks not as effective as del.icio.us and what happens when you get to a computer that doesn’t have the toolbar? Download the toolbar on someone elses computer?
