Another call for GSoC ideas. If you’re an active Mozilla hacker, and have been so for a little while, perhaps you can mentor your pet idea that you don’t have time to implement yourself ;-) So put it up on the page.
If your put an idea up but it hasn’t made it off the Brainstorming page and onto the official page, then it’s probably because I need more info or it doesn’t have a mentor. If you can find one for it, its chances of migrating across are significantly increased :-)
Government Veterinary Hospital Database Management
And Message Services
Intoduction:
In this Project I planned to do database management and mobile message(sms) services to govterment veterinary hospitals. We can provide message alert to owners of pet animals periodically. Particulally for those who are all having cows as pet animals, we have to provide sms alert periodic to owners when cows pregnancy to provide medicine to that.
The main advantage is the sms alert can be provided by people mother tounge itself. Initially I planned to provide services in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannadam. Optianally in English.
Brief study:
If any person will come with there pet animal(s) to veterinary hospital(s) means, first we have to register that person contact number.
And then we will be record the details of person name, address, Pet animal name, Type of animal, Identification of animal by photo, year of born of animal, Age, Decease(s),Medicines already taken by animal, Medicines suggested by Docctors, Next visiting date, etc., into computer database.
We can reterive the old recorded data of pet animals and owners details by typing phone number, simply.
So that, if any one cow have to come to hospital for health checking during its pregnancy means, this system will send intimation or alert message (sms) to its owner in their mother tounge itslf. So that the village people can understad the message send by the hospital.
And the person can register in which time they can to visit hospital for their pet animals health checking, and the system calculate thd Doctors visiting time schedules and inform to people by sending message again.
Technical Talk:
Our software can run any browsers, so tha it is platform (os) independent.
The Database is MySql (open Source).
We need one mobile phone with usb cable to connect with computer. ( That mobile must have feacility to support Tamil language to read and write message, Language is depends upon states…)
No need Internet Connections .
Ruby On Rails is the one of the top most flexible and easy language in open source. Using this language only I will be develop this software.
After installed this software in govt.vet.hospitals, we can provide feacility to connect one hospital databast to another hospital’s database and manipulate all data from all hospital’s database .
Cost Of Implementation:
One computer in each government veterinary hospitals and
One Mobile phone which having support to multi-languages and
Data Cable to connect mobile and computer .

Chenni Saidepet Government Veterinary Hospital Clinician is willing to implement our project in their hospital. Mu project duration is 6 to 8 months.

This project will helps to all veterinary hospitals throughout the world, so all can utilize the rails applications… It may not helps to develop rails core libraries. But surely it will helps to all common village people.
